Privacy Policy

This policy describes information that may be collected during a visit to Nebraska Court Docket, how that information is used, and when it may reach another service. By continuing to browse or use a search box, you accept the practices described below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Search text entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider operating it. That provider processes the query and returns its result. Nebraska Court Docket does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you send a message to the site, we retain it to respond. It remains within the team unless a legal duty requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

A page request can provide ordinary technical details about the visit, such as:

  • The referring site, when there is one
  • Which pages load and how long they remain open
  • Your device and operating system type
  • The browser name and version
  • The device's IP address
  • The time of a page view

Cookies and Analytics

Small cookie files may be stored on your device so analytics services can group traffic and show which pages are used or where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies. Some site features may act differently if cookies are disabled.

What We Do With This Data

  • Finding and fixing technical faults
  • Maintaining site speed and availability
  • Routing a search request to the provider that runs the tool
  • Understanding which pages visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may relate to a visitor's interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Nebraska Court Docket does not host, compile, or sell a database of Nebraska court dockets or private case files. The official trial index is JUSTICE, reached through Nebraska Judicial Branch eServices; the local court keeps the underlying record. County and District Court clerks provide case-file access across Nebraska's 93 counties. Visitor information described in this policy is not combined into a consumer report or a record about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

External providers run the search boxes. A query entered there is handled under the provider's privacy policy and its own rules for storage and sharing. Nebraska Court Docket does not control those practices, so review the provider's notice before sending it information.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Nebraska court portals, county clerk pages, legal-help organizations, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the other operator's privacy terms govern. Read those terms before providing personal information.

Advertising partners may also track activity on their own systems across sites to select ads. Nebraska Court Docket does not run that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold by this site. Information may be shared with:

  • Government or law enforcement when a valid legal order requires disclosure
  • Analytics providers that aggregate visit and performance data
  • Advertising networks that place ads on the pages
  • Search providers receiving a query sent through their tool

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security steps are used to protect the information collected. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, however, and a breach cannot be ruled out.

Users Under 18

Nebraska Court Docket is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor's information has been sent to the site, contact the operator so it can be removed.

Your Data Rights

Nebraska's general public-records law concerns records held by government custodians, while court-file access follows Nebraska Supreme Court rules. The Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. ยงยง84-712 through 84-712.09, and Nebraska Court Rules, Article 8, do not replace the privacy terms of this private site or its search partners. For information held by the site, a visitor may:

  • Request a copy of visitor information held by the site
  • Ask for an error to be corrected
  • Request deletion of information
  • Opt out of some forms of processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices change. A new version and effective date will appear here when updated; revisit it to see the current terms.
